"The Kis-Küküllô area – unexplored territory" thus begins dr. Károly Kós in his work presenting the ethnic artifacts of the region (Kis-Küküllô vidéki magyar népmüvészet. Bucharest, 1978). Kós' statement justifies a listing of the scattered discoveries of ethnographical value, field research and publications, all of which occured comparatively late in this region. Until quite recently, what has been emphasized the most in the folk music and folk dance collection work, was the region's obscure character. György Martin published a survey of the history of ethnographical research related to the area. (A Maros-Küküllô vidéki magyar táncdialektus. Zenetudományi Dolgozatok, 1982).
