Original Village Music from Kalotaszeg - Floreşti – The Muzas
Szászfenes (Floreşti) is situated next door to the city of Kolozsvár (Cluj). From the highway, it can be recognized by the long fence of an army barracks, but the church and other old buildings in the village tell us that this not a new settlement.
This is the village where nothing is like you first thought. Though its name bears the word Szász [which means Saxon in Hungarian] and a Magyar [Hungarian] Fenes exists as well, there are no Saxons or Germans to be found in the village and the Hungarians form only a minority.
