“The place where I was born is of key importance. This is where everything began for me - with my family, music, and song. This record is a kind of musical imprint – a product of the years, presented through the most beautiful melodies of the Carpathian Basin.

Each region that has been important in my musical life is represented. It is a journey: from Transylvania, through the Upper Hungarian language area, the Danube region, and home to Transcarpathia. It is a reflection of my musical taste as a folk singer. It is everything I am surrounded with: my outstanding musician friends and my family. Playing music together with my father and brother is always a great pleasure. The full picture of me is my own trinity: family, music and song. A complete unit. Like the sun, moon and stars.” (Eszter Pál)

The album gives an overview of the folk traditions of the Carpathian Basin: there are tunes from Szék, Magyarózd,the Kalotaszeg region, and from the county of Baranya.
Naturally, the multiethnic and multicultural traditions of her native land, the Kárpátalja / Subcarpathia region are presented as well. She graduated from Liszt Academy as a folk singer; she is a permanent vocalist of her brother’s band, the István Pál ’Szalonna’ and his Band formation.
