Maris Maneszes "Láli" who appears on the recording, is a well known personality of the village.
She learned many old and new style folk songs from her mother and is also one of the few who still know the old wailing or crying lament form (track 9). In addition to the richly ornamented performance style characteristic of 'Szovát, 'Láli néni' has her own completely unique singing style.
This 'articulated-sound' singing probably originates from Asia, and the one-time widespread singing style is now only preserved by a few.
