Fanfara Complexa has a new recording – it’s called: "Tánc alá"  [For dance]. As indicated by the name, of 69 minutes of music here, the overwhelming majority is rollicking, dynamic music for dancing – just a slice of the band’s rich dance house repertoire. Fanfara Complexa was formed in 2002, and ever since they have been playing mostly in Hungarian dance houses for dancing traditional dances of the Moldavian Csángó people. Their sound and repertoire were determined by musical and personal experiences gained going to workshops and immerse-yourself-in-local-culture weeks organized in the tiny village of Somoska/Somușca in Romanian Moldavia at the beginning of the 2000s. Moldavian Csángó music is strongly influenced by the surrounding Romanian culture, which the band fills out with other Balkan melodies and a unique grouping of instruments that makes their “Complexa sound”. Fanfara Complexa is not a project group: it has always existed outside of its concerts as well, since it’s the love of music and friendships between the members that hold the band together.The recording is a Fonó release and the event to celebrate it was held at Fonó Music Hall in Budapest on April 29th, 2016.
