János Csík, leader of the ensemble “Csík zenekar”, has his 50-year-long prime fiddler imprint on the band’s album. His birthday album is intimate and self-revealing. The first part, through tunes taken from the Kiskunság, Moldova, Kalotaszeg and Bonchida, presents the elements of tradition dearest to him. While the second part lists songs characteristic of the Csík zenekar ensemble that crisscross the boundaries between folk and pop music.
