In Buza – like in other villages in the region – the most popular couple dances are: öreges cigánytánc (“old Gypsy dance”), lassú csárdás (cigánytánc or tigăneşte, “slow csárdás”), and the sűrű csárdás (“dense”, meaning “fast csárdás”). Because these dances are so popular, the musicians have a rich vocabulary of melodies for them. Several examples of these are found on this CD. Most of the öreges cigánytánc melodies are sung – Track 4, is a nice example.

In Track 16 we find an old style psalmody fitting in nicely right next to a newstyle folk song. The slow csárdás is also sung, as heard in Track 19, within a longer set played for dancing. Here, for example a Mezőség folk song, a composed folk tune and then a Romanian popular tune come quite naturally, one right after the other.
