Celebrating the Fonó’s 25th birthday, music writer Jávorszky Béla Szilárd interviewed 25 musicians, artists and organizing personalities revealing a certain subjective folk history.

“This anniversary volume contains 25 portrait interviews with the artists and folks in managing capacities who have been involved with Fonó Music Hall’s work, ideas and objectives at various times, with varying intensity and from various generations: through this we strive to present the last quarter century of the Fonó. Without necessarily singing the Fonó’s praises (but of course they do), they speak of their connection to tradition, or where tradition has led them, their generation’s cultural identity and things that inspire them to action. Those interviewed come from a variety of directions and are heading on various paths, but from their careers and personal histories a cultural process congeals into what could even be called a subjective folklore history.” (Jávorszky Béla Szilárd)
