Seven Towers Festival 2016 November 4-20
Dates: November 4 through November 20
Locations within and without Hungary’s borders: Budakalász, Százhalombatta, Sárospatak, Zalaegerszeg, Kolozsvár (Romania), Lendva (Slovenia), Kakasd, Topolya (Serbia), Makó, Budapest.
Presenting concerts by: Muzsikás Ensemble with Alexander Balanescu, Lajkó Félix, Cimbaliband and Szokolay Dongó Balázs and many more. At each location there will also be exhibitions, lectures and discussions on architecture and related themes.
The series begins on November 4th in Budakalász and ends with a gala concert in Budapest at the Pesti Vigadó on November 20th.
The seven towers symbolism turns up time after time in Hungarian cultural history. For us it symbolizes the folk art of the Carpathian Basin, our collective memory and creativity, and the works and heritage of master architect Makovecz Imre (1935 – 2011).
