„Révület / Rave” by the Róbert Lakatos RÉV Band is released
RÉV Band’s third album is published by Fonó Records. Founded by violist Róbert Lakatos, RÉV celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Band members are Hungarian musicians from both Slovakia and Hungary whose common mother tongue is Hungarian folk music. Presenting a selection of authentic folk music, adaptations, and own compositions, the album material was first introduced to the public at the Band’s album release concert on 11 October 2013 at Fonó.
“RÉV Band’s most recent album displays a new and exciting musical world. While our previous albums were attempts to cross the border between folk and classical music, “Révület / Rave” aims to reflect the immense musical diversity I have encountered in my career so far. I have a feeling that the moment has come for the band to address our audience in our most intimate musical language. Music is either good or bad. Artists are either sincere or insincere. Regardless of style or genre. Our new album features authentic Hungarian folk music, tunes with a Balkan touch, and Turkish folksong adaptations as well as rather extraordinary modern adaptations. Our aim is to address a music-loving audience as wide and diverse as possible. I truly hope that having listened to our album, they will find it genuinely rave." (Róbert Lakatos)
