We are counting the days until the festival begins! The Festival starts at the Fonó, then continues for the duration at Budapest’s Várkert Bazár, overlooking the Danube.

On May 23rd, Wednesday – We open the festival at the Fonó with authentic Transylvanian village music featuring Eszterlánc Band with village singers and dancers from the villages of Buza and Melegföldvár/ Feldioara, Transylvania (Romania).


May 24th, Thursday – we move to the beautiful Várkert Bazár. The program begins at 7 PM with a performance by Corvinus University of Economics Folk Dance Ensemble .
At 8:30 PM the extraordinary Turkish-Kurdish performer born in Istanbul Çiğdem Aslan and her quartet with a show of rebetico (referred to by some as “Greek blues”) music.
Next onstage will be Góbé Band performing with guest Porteleki László (of the Muzsikás Ensemble).
Each night at the Várkert Bazár ends with a folk pub on the wine terrace . On Thursday, members of Corvinus University of Economics Folk Dance Ensemble will get everyone up dancing to music by Csángálló .


May 25th Friday begins with Bekecs Folk Dance Ensemble from Nyárádszereda/Miercurea Nirajului, Transylvania (Romania). From 8:30 PM we are pleased to present Sergent Garcia which just be the world’s best party band – creator of “salsa muffin” who plays dance music drawing on Columbian cumbia, Cuban music and Carribean reggae, bomba…
Friday’s stage program winds up with “ Pompás Kalotaszeg ” traditional Transylvanian music with guests Navratil Andrea, Vizeli Balázs, Éri Márton...


On May 26th, Saturday Lajkó Felix will perform with the Polish group VOŁOSI . Later, Dresch Double Quartet with guest Borbély Mihály. Then, Fitos Dezső’s folk dance group .


May 27th Sunday is children’s day with a full program including performances by Szalóki Ági and Novák Péter and much more entertainment by and for children and their families.
