Wine Tasting at Fonó Budai Zeneház: Szentesi Pince

The Fonó wine tasting series launched with outstanding interest, so the program continues. This evening again offers limited seating for those curious about the meeting point of wine, attention, and time.

The guest of the next event is Szentesi Pince (Szentesi Winery), a family winery operating in the Velence Hills, known for rediscovering and replanting old Hungarian grape varieties. The granitic soils and Mediterranean microclimate of the Nadap and Pázmánd vineyards produce wines with elegant acidity. In the cellar, the philosophy centers on grape-focused thinking, minimal intervention, and spontaneous fermentation.

The estate is led by Szentesi József, who previously received the Borászok Borásza díj (Winemaker of Winemakers Award) and is one of the key figures researching traditional Hungarian grape varieties.

The six-wine tasting offers insight into the world of Szentesi Pince, moving from fresh, varietal white wines to more structured reds. The tasting begins with Érintés White, followed by Zengő, then Budai Vörös, where Zengő and Kékfrankos meet to form a distinctive character. Next come Kékfrankos and the rarely tasted Laska, while the evening concludes with the aromatic Fekete Muskotály.

During the evening there will also be time for questions and professional discussion, focusing on traditional Hungarian grape varieties, terroir, and winemaking decisions.

To close the wine tasting, the Boʊ&Co. Trio will give a concert, where the atmosphere of jazz and wine naturally blend together.
A ticket purchased for the wine tasting is also valid for the concert.
