Vágtázó Csodaszarvas Klub - Guest: Csáji László Koppány

19:00–19:45

A panel discussion between Grandpierre Atilla and Csáji László Koppány about elemental ancient knowledge, the Central European successors of steppe civilization, the re-enchantment of the contemporary world, the role of spirituality, and the conditions for the survival of Hungarian culture.

What is a people? Does a collective folk spirit exist? What threads connect us, 21st-century Hungarians, to our history, and how do we relate to the world of our ancestors? Through which core values and rituals can we find common ground with them?

20:15 – Concert: Vágtázó Csodaszarvas

The band Vágtázó Csodaszarvas revives the most ancient layers of Hungarian folk music, filling the listener with the untamed life experience of the Eurasian horse-riding peoples. Their music makes the experience of the cosmic continuity of life, human connectedness, and an irresistible urge to dance feel completely natural.

The group was founded in 2005 by Grandpierre Atilla, legendary singer of the sister band Vágtázó Halottkémek (VHK), together with outstanding Hungarian folk musicians.

Their first album, Tiszta Forrás, featuring cimbalom, Turkish pipe, Hungarian bagpipe, and Csángó drums, surprisingly appeared on one of the music charts of Metal Hammer. Their second album, Végtelen Ázsia!, also reached the top ten of the national music sales charts. Two later albums further highlight the deep cultural connections between Hungarian folk music and the peoples of the Eurasian Silk Road.

Driven by Atilla’s hypnotic stage presence, their concerts radiate an intense love of life rarely experienced elsewhere, lifting the audience toward the timeless values of human existence. According to audience feedback, the experience is “an adrenaline rush,” “like skiing naked,” “the best thing a person can receive,” and “music that reaches the sky with an eternal fire at its center.”
