Tündérhinta (Fairy Swing), Baby Theatre with the Fitos Dezső Company

Fears and anxieties disappear in a flash, flying away. The fairy swings are perfectly in tune with the dancers. This two-part baby theatre production is created especially for the youngest children (ages 0-4). In the first part (20 minutes), four dancers create a world through rhythm-based play rather than storytelling, using nursery rhymes and children’s songs. The etude-based fantasy play invites children to become part of this world in their own way. This is followed by approximately 20 minutes of shared play, where little ones can experience the gentle rocking and swinging of the colorful swings.

Swing, swing, high and low,

The swing goes high like a butterfly.

Not so long ago, if someone had asked whether a theatre performance could bring joy and meaningful experiences to a child under the age of four, we could have been fairly certain the answer would have been no... Yet the Glitterbird project, launched in Norway in 1997, set out to develop a program providing artistic experiences for children aged 0-3. The movement was later joined by a variety of artists, including sculptors, dramaturges and musicians. The aim of the “Glitterbird, Art for the Youngest” program is to create works of art in any artistic discipline (theatre, dance, puppetry) that are capable of communicating with children under the age of three. Decades of experience have shown that when artists are able to invite little ones, free from preconceptions and prior knowledge, into a welcoming world, they can become part of a mystery that exists beyond words. This is the mystery of shared play that the Fitos Dezső Company seeks to explore in its baby theatre production TÜNDÉRHINTA, which communicates with the youngest children through movement, dance and the rhythms of music. The answer to the question posed at the beginning is therefore a resounding YES.
