Shakar Trio & Intergeese ft. Dániel Cseke

Two young acts from two distinct musical worlds meet at Fonó for one evening: Shakar Trio and Intergeese, featuring Dániel Cseke.

Shakar Trio

Shakar Trio was formed in April 2022 by three young musicians from Budapest: Marci Székely on drums, Milán Papp on guitar and Bálint Lendvai on keyboards. They are strongly influenced by the contemporary Hungarian jazz scene, while drawing plenty of inspiration from abroad as well. The fluidity of Scandinavian jazz and the dance-driven spirit of Balkan music can both be heard in their work. Their aim is to create music that offers a universal sense of catharsis, stirring something deep within every listener.

Intergeese

Starting out with an energetic, fresh and stripped-back approach, Intergeese have gradually moved towards a more experimental, layered sound through a shared and deliberate process of artistic development. Their music is a bold reflection of the inner and emotional world of people shaped by postmodern life. Songs inspired by personal stories come together under the broader theme of searching for one’s place in the world. Genre boundaries blur, and anything from contemporary European free music to Midwest emo can become a valid and valuable part of their sound. Their songs are dominated by powerful emotional imagery, shifting between melancholically beautiful, hopeful and disorienting episodes. Many themes return in strikingly different contexts, as though the same thought were being viewed through a different emotional lens.
