Revolutionary Dance House with Soma Magyar and His Band
On the evening of March 14, the celebration begins with a concert at Fonó Budai Zeneház, and the night carries on with music and dancing into March 15.
Magyar Soma is a Canadian-Hungarian violinist who moved to Budapest to play Hungarian folk music and become part of the living tradition. His band is made up of talented young friends from Transylvania, whom he met last year at the Válaszúti Néptánc Tábor (Folk Dance Camp in Valaszút).
Together they perform authentic Hungarian folk music in the spirit of the táncház (dance house) tradition, with youthful energy and short breaks between the dance sets.
Band members:
Magyar Soma - violin
Balla Péter - violin
Dezső László - violin
Miklós Barna - viola (brácsa)
Tasnadi Márton - viola (brácsa)
Molnár Ádám - double bass
