Bolond mese, Puszta Ballad | Film Screening and Conversation with Zoltán Bicskei

Inspired by András Berecz, Bolond mese, Puszta Ballad will be presented at Fonó. Before the film screening, we will talk with film director Zoltán Bicskei.

The protagonist of the story, the village Fool, is driven out of his own village and into the open plains. His transgression is a serious one: he not only holds up a mirror to others, but also clings to the Edenic world of childhood, to the true Eden of carefree playfulness, to the sandy banks of the Tisza.

While in the village all that holds sway is “money, money, money” and the “fidgeting busybodies,” the Fool, known as Csacsi, remains driven by play out on the plains. But there, too, he is joined by his fate in the form of the simple-minded Kisbolond and the wandering wretched woman Lófrarozi.

The village tries to drive Csacsi and his pupil, Kisbolond, even farther away from the plains, fearing the boy’s unpredictability and miraculous powers. But the seemingly empty plains are full of life, and even a real miracle unfolds...

All of this takes place in Vojvodina, seen through the eyes of the Great Hungarian Plain.

Following the screening, the evening continues at Fonó from 20:15 with a record release concert by Árpád Bakos and friends. Separate tickets are required for the concert: HUF 2,500 in advance, HUF 3,000 on the day of the concert.
