Hungarian Culture Day: Folkfonics
The Folkfonics ensemble presents a special concert to celebrate Hungarian Culture Day and commemorate the anniversary of Tamás Cseh’s birth. Founded by musicians trained at the Liszt Academy and conservatories, the band’s unique and colorful musical world blends Hungarian folk songs, poetry, and original compositions with elements of alternative pop, funk, and swing. Their repertoire also includes works by Tamás Cseh, János Másik, and Géza Bereményi.
Their debut album, *Két karodban* (*In Your Two Arms*), was released in December 2018 to critical acclaim, with *De szeretnék* (*Oh, How I’d Love To*) being named one of the top 10 Attila József adaptations by *Fidelio* magazine in 2017. In 2022, they released their second album, *Vándordal* (*Wanderer’s Song*), featuring Krisztina Volkova as the lead vocalist. Folkfonics has performed at prestigious venues like Müpa and MOM Cultural Center, as well as internationally in Belgium, China, and Slovenia.
Tickets: 3000 HUF in advance, at the day of the concert 3500 HUF
