"Halljunk szót...!" – Opening Dance House of the 44th National Táncháztalálkozó
The National Táncháztalálkozó and Craft Fair is a grand celebration of the dance house method, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and a Hungarikum. Organized by the Táncház Association with broad professional collaboration, the festival serves as a multi-arts event showcasing living folk traditions. The 44th edition will take place from April 4-6, 2025.
The main venue remains the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, but the event will kick off on April 4 with the "Let’s Have a Word…!" opening dance house at Fonó. This gathering will bring together dance house enthusiasts from around the world for an evening of music and celebration.
The night will highlight traditional bands from beyond Hungary’s borders, featuring performances by the Szászcsávási Zenekar and the Magyarpalatkai Banda, among others.
For the first time, a South Slavic dance house will also be part of the program, introducing several young Hungarian artists:
ViGaD Zenekar (Szentendre)
Orkestar PLANINA (Mohács)
Orkestar Radost (Mohács)
The South Slavic dance house will be led by József Szávai and Zsófia Kovácsovics.
