Elán

The collaboration between the members of Elán predates the band’s formation, resulting in a deep musical and emotional connection among them. Established in 2022, the band brings together talented young musicians from the Hungarian folk music scene. Their philosophy centers on the joy of music-making, revelry, and the natural flow of inviting others to celebrate and dance to their rhythms. Elán’s music blends Hungarian folk traditions with Balkan rhythms and Transylvanian Roma music, creating a unique sonic atmosphere enriched with a touch of improvisation. On stage, they strive to evoke the spirit of traditional dance occasions of the past—where skirts twirled, boots stomped, and emotions ran free.
