Ysra
YSRA is a new world music supergroup featuring Mária Keck alongside musicians from Meszecsinka and Pásztorhóra. Mária Keck is a versatile artist: singer, dancer, musician, and composer. Born in Serbia and raised in Hungary, she spent nearly a decade in Spain and currently resides and works in Slovenia. Through her flamenco fusion and world music projects (e.g., De Cobre, Ex Auro), she has toured Europe and performed in Argentina, Japan, and Mexico. Emil Biljarszki was a core member of the psychedelic tribal group Korai Öröm and later toured 25 countries with Meszecsinka, earning a Fonogram Award and international Top 10 rankings. Szabolcs Takács was the bassist for Meszecsinka in its final years and is also a member of Folkfonics, Vodku, and Chalga. Gergely Okos, the drummer of Odd ID (formerly Ethnofil), also performs with Pásztorhóra and several rock bands.
Boyongó
Boyongó is a Hungary-native band increasingly spotted across the country. Its natural habitats include small festivals, clubs, budget-friendly garages, and temporarily occupied living rooms or backyards. Its movements are marked by either barefoot dancing or village program minibuses. Its nourishment consists mainly of rare folk songs, modern fusion elements, and significant doses of emotion. As a result, Boyongó produces both quiet, soft, and authentic sounds and wild, loud, and untamed noise, often spiced with a touch of meaningful lyrics. Spotting Boyongó is a rare treat—don’t miss it if you can!
