Szélműves concert and dance house

Szélműves began as a three-member Moldavian Csángó dance band but has since evolved into a seven-piece world music concert group. Their essence lies in their Balkan-inspired brass-heavy instrumentation and sound, combined with diverse musical influences gained from various styles.

Their energetic, tight-rhythm music blends the musical traditions of multiple nations (Csángó Hungarian, Romanian, Serbian, Turkish, Jewish, and Roma) with unique arrangements, a fresh perspective, and boundless joy for life. Formed in 2018, the group quickly became a key band for concerts and dance events in and around Szeged. Nationwide recognition followed in 2022, with performances at notable venues and festivals such as the House of Hungarian Music, Fonó Budai Zeneház, Campus Festival, Szegedi Ifjúsági Napok, DombosFest, Denagyvilág Festival, Fékomadta Festival, the Slovak Hungarian Dance House Meeting, and the Serketánc Camp in Sárospatak.

Their high-energy dance events unleash powerful vibes, driven by their distinctive performance style and the raw strength of folk music, inspiring both casual listeners and seasoned dancers to join in. They frequently collaborate with guest artists, introducing new layers to their performances. At their concerts, authentic melodies are reimagined with a modern, youthful sound, making their music enjoyable for all ages.
