JAZZFEST BUDAPEST: Mester Dániel Trio feat. Balogh Kálmán
Dániel Mester travelled the world to find his own musical world, in which Anatolian melodies, Indonesian scales and imaginary Hungarian folk songs are equally at home. The wind musician began his musical career as a classical clarinettist, followed by jazz saxophone, and completed his higher studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, which not only gave him the opportunity to travel the world as a performing artist (South Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, Morocco), but also gave him the chance to explore musical heritages outside the Western musical tradition. He has also been involved in film scoring and is currently inspired by the study of Turkish classical and folk music, which has influenced his own compositions. His long cherished dream of forming his own trio has been realised with the calming down, looking back and looking forward caused by the viral situation. The young Hungarian jazz generation has invited two talented musicians, guitarist Péter Cseh and drummer Tamás Hidász, to join them in this musical adventure, and at this concert they will be joined by the devilishly virtuoso cimbalom player Kálmán Balogh.
