Navratil Andrea and Kobzos Ensemble - for children

Daram-daram-madaram

- children’s event with traditional games, dance, singing, instrument demonstration.

Navratil Andrea has been doing these great children’s events with Kobzos Ensemble for years now. Instrument demonstrations, playful dance teaching, storytelling and lots of singing are done specifically for the children’s enjoyment.
Kobzos Ensemble was formed in 2006 focusing at the beginning on Hungarian religious folk song. Later the ensemble’s repertoire expanded to include concerts of Hungarian folk music from various regions, dance houses, children’s dance houses, other programs for children and concerts of European music from the Middle Ages. They have earned numerous Hungarian awards over the years including: Young Master of Folk Arts, NKÖM Bezerédj Award, Bartók Memorial Award, Hungarian Cultural Award. This year Navratil Andrea received the Liszt Ferenc Award.
“Respect for the knowledge inherent in song, nature, and the traditions of peasant communities has been part of my life since childhood. It is a joy for me to be able to work and be with people who have similar values and experience. I think it is important that our heritage should be accessible to everyone as living knowledge – not just in books and written music. I have chosen to align my knowledge and teaching of biology, traditional folk culture and preservation of folk customs along those lines.” (Navratil Andrea)
