Meybahar’s world sweeps us into the music of the Aegean Sea and Asia Minor, leading us to the most inner resonations of our soul. The band is inspired by reaching into the modal music ‘from before’, the music of our time, and the depths and heights of the shared points and meetings between cultures.

The band grew out of Marilia Pilti and Kopcsik Márton’s duo. Marilia plays Greek santuri and Márton plays violin and a resonating stringed viola of his own invention. The santuri and violin make a perfect musical pair and create an unusually exciting atmosphere on stage.

The evening at the Fonó promises to be full of excitement. This will be the concert debut of their guest jazz guitarist, Juhász Gábor.
