Interactive Folk Music Demonstration with Ördöngős Folk Music School – FAMILY EVENT

Ördöngős Folk Music School is in the city of Komarom, Hungary. Their goal is to introduce the method of learning to play an instrument by ear to as many people as possible – irregardless of age or level of musical experience. The real masters of Hungarian folk music, the village peasant musicians, learned this way for centuries, without ever seeing written music or a music class in school.

Horsa István founded this music school in 2010 where they use exactly this ancient method of teaching folk music. He is convinced that if we would like to play music like the peasant musicians, then this is the way to learn. This particular program gives children the opportunity to try out the main Hungarian folk instruments and have the experience of playing with others. Further information at www.nepzenetanoda.hu
