Pianist Gáspár Károly is a definitive figure on the Hungarian jazz scene. In addition to his multifaceted musical activities, he does a radio program on KARC FM and writes music reviews for JazzMa.hu. His trio performs his own compositions and jazz standards. Their music can be described as fresh and progressive, romantic and aesthetic while also respecting the traditions of mainstream jazz.

JazzMa.hu readers voted their album “The Outsider” as record of the year. In 2019 they were nominated for Hungary’s Fonogram Award; Gáspár Károly was named Pianist of the Year by the editing staff of JazzMa.hu and their second record “Salvation” was voted record of the year, with Gáspár Károly Trio named as ‘ensemble of the year’. In 2020 Salvation was nominated for a Fonogram award and JazzMa.hu readers voted Oláh Kálmán and Gáspár Károly pianists of the year.
