Apró véres balladák [Little bloody ballads]

… Ady put the characteristics of ballads into his short stories….Typically they break the borders of narrative prose, they are succinct, using a minimum words, but still nothing is missing. Similarly succinct, using a minimum of words Horváth Csaba and Forte Group unfurl Ady’s short stories through their own dramatic language. Through gesture and movement they emphasize Ady’s humor, keen insight, deep emotion and the social and sociographic character of the period.

In these writings it is almost possible to reconstruct Ady’s youth, especially his childhood and school years. His short stories also sensitively reflect Hungary’s moral crisis of the period.

Ady himself wrote: “I believe that real music and real song take off from the place where death is lord.

The performance is built on the music of the wonderful cymbalom player Lukács Miklós – a unique blend of contemporary music, jazz and music of various ethnic groups. Ady Endre’s largely unknown short stories that hold many secrets come to life through the actors and the live music - in the language of contemporary theatre.
