The dance house season begins!
On September 11th the Fonó provides the venue for the opening celebration of the dance house season and we’re planning to make use of all the spaces!
In the afternoon there will be children’s and teen dance houses and handcrafts for kids.
The festivities begin with a performance by
Netz Produkció - Triola
Children’s World - family music, dance and fun jam.
Then we’ll continue with a dance house hosted by
Sarjú Banda
(well-known from the kid’s Páva Folk Talent Contest broadcast on Hungarian TV) with members of Children’s Heritage Folk Arts Association dance groups helping out beginners.
Or children may try their hand at weaving, spinning, beading and straw weaving handcrafts.
The evening events
will include dance houses of Hungarians and other ethnic groups living in the Carpathian Basin in the "Pajta". Amongst them, dances of: Rábaköz, Gömör, Nagyecsed, Bonchida, Magyarszovát, Sóvidék and Kalotaszeg. Well-known teachers with members of performing folk dance groups will teach and lead the dancing - arriving from: Corvinus Közgáz Folk Dance Ensemble, Angyalföldi Vadrózsák Folk Dance Ensemble and the Fót Folk Arts Secondary School.
The theatre space
will be the place for those who come to have fun (not necessarily to learn). Here the events start with a “
Senoirs Dance House”
at 8.30pm. After 10pm Szigony Band and Budapest Mezőség Band will play Gyimes, Mezőség and Moldavian music for dancing til dawn.
