Corpus Trombone Quartet concert
with Szokolay 'Dongó' Balázs
and Kubinyi Júlia
Corpus Trombone Quartet and Szokolay 'Dongó' Balázs met in 2017 when they did a radio interview together and immediately began to talk about possibilities for bringing folk music and classic music together. The first experimental pieces for folk wind instruments and trombone quartet were written by the end of the year. Szokolay 'Dongó' Balázs began doing instrumentations of traditional folk tunes and Bartók’s folk song arrangements for folk winds and trombone quartet. Arrangements of Hungarian folk music for brass instruments in this formation are a rarity. Their concert is also the record release event for
their album:
“Madárka”
. Singer Kubinyi Júlia joins them on the recording and for the concert.
