Bazseva
Concert and dance house

To “bazseva” means nothing more than to make music!

In 2013 five young musicians decided that they’d like to prove that Hungarian folk music will never go out of style. They celebrate their fate of being born in Hungary with the gift of their wonderful music. They are young musicians that live in Budapest and the surrounding areas and are connected by their love of Hungarian folk music, the music they have in common: “the mother music”. They share a deep respect for tradition and the music in its original form. They work from archival recordings trying to convey their vital force in today’s urbanized world.

Hungarian folk music is definitely alive in the cities also. Its world of melody and rhythm is unique. Its construction is instinctively wise; it penetrates the soul. The folk song texts carry eternal wisdom and current, personal messages. Bazseva believes in Hungarian folk music as the rock, the foundation of their musical origin.
