Kerekes Band and Dalinda

Joint acoustic concert

Kerekes Band
is a two-time winner of Hungary’s Fonogram award. Their path spans more than 20 years from the sultry atmosphere of their Gyimes and Moldavian dance houses to world music stages. During that time they have established a sound which is unmistakable on the Hungarian and international scenes. A pulse and tempo reminiscent of Moldavian music is filled out with riff-centered flute and coboz themes, in other words: ethno funk. Their sound comes as much from rock music as from traditional shepherd’s music. On their recent record “Water” and soon to be released “Fire”, they return to the acoustic sound – leaving the amplifiers, effects and electronics behind. Now they prepare a special music experience with Dalinda Singing Trio, where the acapella and instrumental will complement one another.

Dalinda Singing Ensemble’s musical language is based on authentic Hungarian folk singing. Members of the group began working together in numerous authentic folk and world music productions while studying at the Hungarian Academy of Music’s Department of Folk Music. Working together over the past years their music has matured expanding on the authentic Hungarian folk songs sung in unison, to polyphony and a more modern sound. They have been doing concerts since 2015 and have performed in all the most well-known Hungarian concert halls.

This joint concert is a unique and unrepeatable Fonó event.
