Rodjenice
(Roђenice) is a female vocal group from Serbia – they perform traditional songs from rural areas of former Yugoslavia.
The group was formed in 2009 when its members were studying at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts. Folk songs from all over the Balkan region sung in traditional style have always been in their repertoire. But, artistic curiosity has inspired them to explore other ways of presenting tradition – through modern culture and contemporary music.
Rodjenice won first prize at Cântecul de dragoste de-a lungul Dunarii an international folklore festival in Braila, Romania, during which they had the opportunity to cooperate and perform with the Lăutarii din Chişinău orchestra and conductor Nicolae Botgros. Last year Rodjenice released their first album called #svadbenice - a collection of wedding songs.

Babra
Babra breathes new life into the varied musical heritage of the Southern Slavic groups. The band was formed in 2014 in Budapest where Western and Eastern Europe intersect in a melting pot of surviving traditional and novelty urban cultures. The band members are connected to the music of Slavic ethnic groups settled along the Danube though a shared enthusiasm and family ties. Their pursuit is to create new musical forms with unique sound and style – while conserving the authenticity and spirit of the local Slavic music. The band tours and plays in the Slavic communities around Budapest. They are also active in Budapest’s dance house scene. Their sound is characterized by unity of the tamburas, and harmony of the clarinet and accordion. Their mission is to embody this rich musical heritage with youthful energy, while adding value with their unique interpretations.
