Tonight: Zagyva Band, Naszály Band

Zagyva Band

Zagyva Band is a leading band from the younger generation of Hungarian dance house musicians. The members of band are the kind of friends and musicians who, playing music together over the last decade and a half have become real performers with a unified and unique world of sound. Their power, professional humility and youthful momentum come from their fresh musical thinking. In addition, they firmly believe in folk culture’s community-forming and community-preserving power.

Naszály Band plays authentic-style Hungarian folk music. Their name refers a mountain located in Hungary near the Vác Music Conservatory where they studied.
“We have been playing music together since 2013. Our band activities include giving concerts, accompanying folk dance ensembles and playing for dance houses. We regularly accompany Kincső Folk Dance Ensemble and Lenvirág Folk Dance Ensemble, amongst others. As we see it, our task is to present and pass on our folk music heritage to younger generations. We are lucky to be able to travel abroad every year as representatives of Hungarian tradition.”
