The Táncháztalálkozó is the annual grand festival of Hungarian folk music, folk dance and folk arts . This is a meeting of amateur and professional folk performers, children’s and adult dance groups, folk music schools and folk artists from all over the Carpathian Basin, Moldavia and the Hungarian diaspora, not to mention folk artists from other ethnic groups living in Hungary.

This festival is organized by the Dance House Association (Táncház Egyesület). It has been held every spring since 1983 usually within the framework of the Budapest Spring Festival, welcoming everyone interested in living folk art, the Hungarian dance house movement and related arts. Our festival was voted amongst Hungary’s best festivals in 2010 and 2016 and was listed amongst the best European cultural festivals in 2017-2018.
