Dance house gets the spotlight on Fonó Wednesdays! Every week we invite two guest bands to play dance house music all evening. Góbé and PásztorHóra bands will play every two weeks for Hungarian string band and Moldavian dance houses. Other bands from Budapest, the countryside and communities outside Hungary’s borders will also play for dancing during the season. Come with, or without a partner; with or without dance experience! Everyone is welcome!

Magos
Magos Ensemble plays authentic Hungarian folk music. Formed in 2008 in Budapest, they have been functioning in their present form since 2017. In addition to accompanying dance ensembles, they regularly play for dance houses and give concerts at home in Hungary and abroad. For years they have been providing the music at the Marosszék Folk Music and Folk Dance Camp held in the Transylvanian village of Jobbágytelke / Sâmbriaş (Romania). In 2011 they were winners of the FolkBEATS authentic folk music and world music talent competition, thanks to which in 2012 they embarked upon a successful 5 week, 26 performance tour playing concerts and holding dance houses in North America. They participated in the 2014 PÁVA folk talent competition broadcast on Hungarian TV. In 2017 thanks to support from Halmos Béla grant funding, they released their recording entitled “Forgatós” of authentic Hungarian folk music from Transylvania. In 2018 they won the “Nagy Páva” award at a new folk performance competition sponsored by the Hungarian Heritage House.
