Tóth Viktor is one of the most muti-faceted figures on Hungary’s jazz scene. The Hungarian press has described him both as a ‘virtuoso post-bop bad boy’ (in Tóth Viktor Tercett) and an interpreter of soulful, spiritual music (in Arura Trió). His 2007 album “ Climbing with mountains ” won awards in Hungary. In 2010 he was named jazz musician of the year, and in 2014 he was voted the best Hungarian alto saxophonist of the year.
In his musical endeavours he seeks a universal harmony.

In 2010 he released his album entitled “ Tartim ”, then in 2011 “ Popping Bopping ”. He has played with some great musicians: Hamid Drake (drum), Henry Franklin (bass), William Parker (bass), Piotr Wojtasik (trumpet), John Betsch (drum), Dresch Mihály (sax), He sees playing with them as great opportunities for learning and personal development. His playing style is both dynamic and sensitive and refers to a desire to grasp the energy of the moment. He has played at numerous jazz festivals in Europe and the United States, leads his own trio, plays duets with contemporary dancers, collects folk music, composes and searches for new paths.
