“People often complain that they don’t understand my music – they would like to grasp in one moment what I’ve been thinking about for ten years.…” Miles Davis

Saxophonist Tóth Viktor gives a concert and talk on 100 years of jazz - illustrated with live music and a variety of audio and video clips.
During the concert the audience gets an introduction to the history of jazz and its various genres. Through the selections played and his commentary the listener gets a kind of key to understanding and a deeper appreciation for jazz.

Tóth Viktor has many times been named Hungary’s alto saxophone player and its composer of the year. Many of his recordings have been named “Jazz Record of the Year”. His performance success lies in his natural playing style, a high level of preparedness and natural performance ability. His “Easily Understandable Jazz Concert and Talk” has been successful in Hungary and many cities across Europe.

“During my concerts I often felt that the audience needed a couple sentences before or after the music – to give a deeper understanding of what we are playing and why. Jazz traditions, styles and modes of expression build upon one another - its intellectual and spiritual expressions are interconnected with the last 100 years of human life and spirit. At first jazz may sound complicated to the untrained ear, but I believe that with some examples and guidance to bring it into context, the listener will hear the music better and it will become a greater experience for the heart and conscience.” Tóth Viktor
