Herczku Ági and the Band
Herczku Ágnes
and
Nikola Parov
are essential personalities on Hungary’s world music scene. At the moment they lead the formation known as “Herczku Ági and the Band”. Their last record “Bandázom” was on Songlines Magazine Toplist for weeks.
Their concerts bring Hungarian and Eastern European traditional music to a wider audience thanks to a contemporary musical approach and Nikola Parov’s rich instrumentalization.
Nikola Parov
has been on the Hungarian ethnic music scene since at least 1980 when he was a founder and soloist of the Hungarian group Zsaránok. Later he became a founding member and front man of the Riverdance Orchestra touring for years with the world-famous Riverdance show. Upon returning to Hungary, he wrote the music for the Hungarian State Folk Dance Ensemble’s show “Naplegenda” which won a Fonogram award and continues to be a regular part of the Ensemble’s repertoire.
